Chapter 55: Clumsy

The soldier’s footsteps stopped.

The man in front of him… his eyes were terrifying.

Most ordinary people would feel fear and regret before death.

But very few would be so fierce.

He seemed to see a dying beast, even if it was covered in blood, it would still bite the enemy one last time before it died.

Sure enough… only such people are the most dangerous.

Xiao Qi’s death was not in vain.

But—

The soldier’s eyes narrowed; he wanted to avenge Xiao Qi.

Gripping his long saber, he dragged his broken leg and limped towards Li Qi.

“You bastard… you bastard.” He cursed incessantly, as if that would allow him to ignore Li Qi’s gaze and the long saber in his hand, which was filled with Evil Qi.

And Li Qi showed no sign of wavering.

In the mountain forest at night, one was exhausted and unable to move, while the other had fallen off a cliff and was severely injured.

The lone moon hung high, reflecting the cold gleam of two long sabers.

“Hah!” Finally, the soldier let out a loud shout, actually charging with his broken leg!

The exposed bone fragments made a piercing screeching sound; it was hard to imagine what kind of pain that was.

But this pain bought Li Qi off guard.

Li Qi never expected that the opponent could charge with a broken leg; he was already extremely fatigued, and just leaning on his saber had already exhausted all his strength, so facing such a charge, he didn't react for a moment.

However, Li Qi’s body had, after all, been washed by Divine Qi. At this sudden turn of events, he was caught off guard for a moment, but he immediately adjusted his posture.

Instead of dodging, he held the saber with both hands, using his trembling hands to squeeze out the last bit of strength from his entire body, raising the saber.

A charge cannot be easily stopped.

The soldier gritted his teeth, his eyes wide, and barely managed to turn his body slightly, but still thrust his long saber into Li Qi’s body.

The blade entered flesh with a wet thud.

It pierced right through Li Qi.

But at the same time, Li Qi’s saber also pierced through his opponent.

Even though he was wearing armor.

However, the officer’s saber was incredibly sharp, easily piercing through the armor.

After both men had stabbed into each other’s bodies, they simultaneously released their long sabers.

Although Li Qi’s saber was sharp, he had no strength left to twist it inside the opponent’s body.

Although the soldier still had strength, his saber was not sharp enough and was stuck by Li Qi’s ribs, making it impossible to twist or pull out for a while.

Therefore, both released their grip at the same time, abandoning their sabers.

Then, they embraced each other.

They had not forgiven each other; instead, they used their teeth to bite, using their only remaining, most primitive weapons—their teeth and jaws—to try and inflict even a negligible amount of harm on the other.

Li Qi bit off the opponent’s ear, and the opponent tore at Li Qi’s neck, making it bloody.

But at this moment, Li Qi suddenly felt his vision blur.

With a bang, the soldier flew out.

His face was a bloody mess, several teeth flew out, his nose bridge was broken, his entire face was sunken in, and it was clear he was no longer breathing.

It looked like… he was kicked squarely in the face by a horse.

Li Qi was already exhausted, and now he had been stabbed. At this sudden relaxation, his vision went black, and he uncontrollably lost consciousness.

He only vaguely saw a horse and a female figure rushing towards him.

“Shen…” He had only uttered one word before he fainted.

He had only been barely holding on; now that he relaxed, he instantly fainted.

By the time Li Qi woke up, he didn’t know how much time had passed.

He only knew that he seemed to have regained consciousness.

But it was very blurry, like being half-asleep and half-awake.

Everything in front of him was hazy, and he couldn't feel anything in his body at all.

Oh, he could still feel a little bit.

He felt someone constantly walking around him, but he couldn't see their figure clearly.

His consciousness couldn't focus at all; he couldn't even perceive time, not knowing whether a second or an hour had passed.

There was a subtle force dragging him downwards.

It was as if chains were binding his Spirit Soul, trying to pull him into an bottomless abyss.

He seemed to feel karma fire burning beneath him; if he fell into it, he would be doomed forever.

But, something was stopping him.

The chains beneath seemed to be made of Qi.

And this Qi, when it got close to him, seemed to be weakened.

But he could only barely distinguish it, yet he couldn't feel it clearly at all.

The world in front of him was like being covered by a layer of frosted glass; no matter how hard he tried to open his eyes, he couldn't see clearly.

This went on for an unknown period of time.

Li Qi struggled, using all his strength, wanting to break through this frosted glass.

How to do it? He thought with his remaining consciousness.

Thinking was his instinct.

“Qi…” He murmured, this was the only feasible method in his memory.

What kind of Qi could be used?

He had not a single bit of Qi left in his body.

Both the Azure Dragon Divine Qi and the Household God Divine Qi had been completely used up.

These Divine Qi all required sacrifices to obtain.

Then, was there any Qi that could be obtained without sacrifices…?

Was there…?

Was there really?

Li Qi used his already chaotic mind, trying his best to think.

Although there seemed to be a barrier protecting him, preventing those chains from pulling him down, he always felt that this barrier would eventually disappear, and he would eventually be unable to hold on.

Qi…

Qi…

Wait… what did he rely on to Cultivate Wave-Breaking Force?

Wave-Breaking Force was the first cultivation method Li Qi Cultivated after coming to this world.

Before, Li Qi had never thought about it.

But now, trapped in this frosted glass box, amidst his daze, he suddenly thought of this point.

According to the Dao of this world, Wave-Breaking Force… should also have corresponding Qi.

However, it seemed… he had never felt it before.

This seemed to be the only place where he might be involved with “Qi.”

Upon this thought, even though he was still in a semi-conscious state, Li Qi decisively tried it.

He had a premonition that if he didn't resolve this state soon—

He might die.

Wave-Breaking Force… Cultivation requires holding one’s breath, then guiding the muscles within the body.

Wait, guiding the muscles to do what?

Inside the muscles… Shen Shuibi said there was Ying Qi, Wei Qi…

Wait, when Wave-Breaking Force is operating, the Ying Qi, Wei Qi, and also the blood Qi, seem to move in a different direction than usual.

Li Qi used the last bit of clarity in his subconscious to control his body, attempting to gather a trace of Qi using the method of Wave-Breaking Force.

Then, he felt it.

His Innate Three Treasures seemed to emerge.

Essence, Qi, and Spirit, were brought out by the Ying Qi and Wei Qi.

Under the enhancement of this power, the layer of frosted glass in front of him seemed to gradually develop cracks.

Li Qi’s mind also seemed to gradually become a little clearer.

It was this tiny bit that allowed him to seize the opportunity, grasping the small amount of power gathered by Wave-Breaking Force, and fiercely stabbing himself, wanting to fully wake himself up!

With a whoosh! A thunderous sound exploded beside his ears, and Li Qi suddenly opened his eyes, taking a deep breath.

It was then that he realized he was covered in sweat!

And Shen Shuibi was pressing down on him.

Her body temperature was warm, which must have been the reason he didn’t suffer from hypothermia due to the cold.

There was just another problem.

For example, it was a bit soft.
