Chapter 584: Communicating with Gods
An unborn God is the purest 'Innate Qi'.
Such a thing is definitely a super tonic.
At the same time, Li Qi also gained a deeper understanding of the existence of the Divine Dao.
They seemed to have no thoughts whatsoever, completely different from the Dao Orthodoxy Li Qi had understood before. All Dao Orthodoxy Li Qi had encountered previously had their own thoughts, their own style of action, and a series of transformations in values and worldviews guided by the Dao.
But the Divine Dao had none of these.
Li Qi's thoughts churned, and at the same time, the other party finally began to surge continuously.
At this point, it was no longer a dialogue, but rather information and intelligence began to transmit between them at an astonishing speed, even intermingling with each other's memories.
Complete honesty brought extremely high communication efficiency!
Previously, Li Qi deduced the thoughts and various practices of a Dao Orthodoxy mainly through continuous observation, constant contemplation, and deduction of the other party's social form, combining it with his own knowledge to arrive at a possible conclusion.
But in the Divine Dao, none of this was needed. Through this completely transparent mode of communication without secrets or privacy, Li Qi easily understood the Divine Dao through the eyes of a Fire Official within the Divine Dao.
One could even say he directly obtained the other party's memories!
Thus, Li Qi came to understand an astonishing fact.
Why is a God a God?
The answer is, if one is born a God, then one is a God.
If one is not born a God, then one can never be.
Even those ubiquitous 'savage beasts', the various unintelligent strange life forms manifested by the Great Dao, are actually a type of 'God', just a lower class.
Therefore, the Divine Dao itself is actually 'Dao-less'.
The Divine Dao is the 'Dao-less World' most despised by the Human Race, which is also one of the reasons for the separation between humans and Gods.
Moreover, it is impossible for the Divine Dao to develop its own Dao, because for the Divine Dao, their numbers are too small, and each of them is unique.
This is truly genuine uniqueness. Perhaps Star Officials can be considered a special species where individuality can be developed, but for the 'First Gods' of the Celestial Court Lineage, their nature and duties are determined at birth.
The moment they are born, what kind of God they are, what authority they wield, and what Great Dao they hold is already fixed. In other words, they are born with an unchangeable 'Dao foundation'.
All that remains is to continue moving forward, but the Dao foundation will never change.
If one's origin is a Water God, one will always be a Water God, because this is the root of your existence. These 'First Gods' are themselves Incarnations of the mighty power of Heaven and Earth; they are the personifications of various natural phenomena in the Universe.
The Dao-less Divine Dao, its very existence, is meaningless.
For example, why does Shaman Dao exist?
Because there is a group of Shamanes who have their own goals to implement, and the existence of a Dao Orthodoxy helps achieve this goal, so Shaman Dao was born.
The same applies to the Human Race.
So, why do Gods exist?
The answer is, this question is meaningless.
Gods simply exist. Their existence needs no reason, no meaning. They are the primal consciousness, consciousness entities that appeared before all Dao Orthodoxy.
They are natural, born this way. In reality, there is no such thing as a 'Divine Dao' at all. The later Divine Dao was actually just an organization formed by Gods for survival, which happened to absorb some Mortals who yearned to become Gods during its development.
Why did this happen?
This kind of thing made Li Qi feel an uncontrollable dread. Li Qi was even somewhat stunned.
Such a powerful organization, yet it had no 'Dao' of its own. This completely overturned Li Qi's common sense.
Li Qi had always firmly believed that to survive in this world, one must possess a 'Dao', to know why one lives, and to have one's own guidance.
Especially for an organization, how can an organization have no principles, no goals?
But the Divine Dao simply did not. The so-called Star Officials, the Celestial Court, and even the copied Human Race structure, were merely adopted because they found them useful.
However, even though they directly copied the Human Race, they completely rejected the Human Race's ideology and were not influenced by it.
It was simply...
Absurd.
Besides absurd, Li Qi could find no other word to describe it. One must know, Li Qi had always firmly believed in the Law of 'only by recognizing can one use'.
In reality, this Law is absolutely effective. Look at the Demonic Dao's methods, ever-changing and indescribable, but if you don't believe in the Demonic Dao, then such purely idealistic magic cannot take effect.
The others are naturally the same. The most bizarre is the demon; the transformation of a demon remains a mystery to this day, and it is impossible to explain how such a complete transformation from body and mind to the Inner World occurs.
One must know, Li Qi himself deeply felt the conflict between these Dao paths. He was both a beneficiary and a victim. The cognition of the world among various Dao paths is completely different!
Different cognitions of the world are not a laughing matter. For example—
The Fu Cao Yi Realm that Li Qi encountered earlier. The beings of the Fu Cao Yi Realm perceived 'the world' as having no barriers.
In fact, they could genuinely pass directly through world barriers. In their eyes, the world was different from the world in Li Qi's eyes. This difference in reality caused by a difference in worldview... could even be said to be the very foundation of the Demonic Dao's existence.
The Demonic Dao's extreme solipsism is also built upon this bizarre state.
But you cannot say 'whatever you think' it is, because objective reality exists, only... objective reality and subjective reality are intertwined, making everything so unpredictable.
However, this was also the reason for Li Qi's dread.
In a 'Dao-less' state, what did the world look like in the eyes of the Divine Dao? How did the Divine Dao exist? Was this subjective objective reality actually not objective?
Li Qi's mind seethed, and essays poured out of him one after another.
However, at this moment, the Fire Official spoke.
“Calm down, Mortal,” he said.
Li Qi also began to forcibly control his thoughts, as he felt that this God seemed to want to clear his doubts.
Then, he heard the Fire Official speak to Li Qi, posing a question: “Does existence itself need a reason?”
This question made Li Qi's thoughts halt immediately, and the essays that were pouring out of him directly jammed.
That's right, does existence itself need a reason?
Apparently not, existence is just existence.
“We do not exist for the 'Dao'; our existence is the 'Dao'. The 'Dao' you Mortals initially sought is actually us,” the Fire Official said.
They are the beginning, the source of all matter and Qi.
Mortals pursuing the Dao are actually seeking to pursue them as natural phenomena.
The character for God is composed of 'shi' and 'shen'.
Shi means altar, and shen means thunder and lightning.
It already explains itself very clearly. In the beginning, when characters were invented, they were called 'Gods' precisely because their mighty power from natural phenomena was recognized.
At least in this world, the Human Race initially took Gods as their highest guidance. Shamanes, at the very beginning, were communicators between humans and Gods, and it was only later that they gradually developed into communicators of all things, and even became the Balancer of all things.
While Li Qi was thinking about these things, he still sent all these thoughts out in great detail. In this state, he had no secrets.
And the God suddenly interjected at this moment.
He said to Li Qi: “Gods are indeed the beginning, but... the beginning is one, yet what you pursue is zero.”
These words struck Li Qi like lightning once more.
Although this God's words were brief, he always managed to cut directly to the core, always hitting exactly where it would most provoke Li Qi's thoughts.
Li Qi suddenly realized—
The other party was lecturing on the Dao.
A lecture on the Dao unique to him.
Why? Because of his cultivation methods?
But these two thoughts had barely emerged before they were enveloped by other surging thoughts.
Because, 'the beginning is one, but what you pursue is zero' was simply too effective.
Gods are the very beginning of everything, the initial things, the initial Qi, and the initial number is 'one'.
However, the reason 'one' exists is because 'zero' exists.
'Zero' is the ultimate. Whether it's a positive number or a negative number, no matter how a function is plotted on a number line or quadrants are divided, zero is always zero. It is the foundation of all numerical development. What is sought is not one, but zero.
Therefore, the Divine Dao can have no goal, and can even have no Dao of its own, because they do not need one.
Gods are... natural phenomena.
So, why are his inner body spirits called by this name? inner body spirits...
Numerous thoughts enveloped Li Qi.
Thus, he decisively ended his Chaos form.
This Chaos form was itself formed by him using the evolved 'Circulation' method to extremely complexify all his Qi. Now, as long as he returned all his Qi to its original state, he would exit this form.
Li Qi's body recovered, and he descended, returning to the vast, boundless space he was in before.
Then, he began to ponder.
In the Chaos state, he had to control his thoughts, so he couldn't think properly.
Now that he had enough information, he could carefully consider the relationship between Shaman Dao and the Divine Dao, and... the origin of the 'inner body spirits'.
Why are they called inner body spirits?
And... the origin of the name Shaman God Mountain.
Also, the difference between 'Gods' as natural phenomena and the naturalness pursued by Shaman Dao, that distinction between zero and one.
And above, in the Chaos, the 'Fire Official' floated there quietly, like a cloud.
Time passed little by little.
Li Qi pondered for nearly fifteen years.
This was an... Epiphany, just an exceptionally long one.
Of course, the time spent on comprehension was still fast; most of the time was actually used to implement these insights into his body, reconstructing his Inner World.
The main purpose of this cultivation was to verify the initial purpose, why the Divine Dao, this 'initial thing', exists, and the inspirational effect of the Divine Dao on Shaman Dao.
Finally, after a full fifteen years of contemplation, Li Qi arrived at the answer.
This world is meaningless.
It's not that it's truly meaningless, but rather that the existence of things, and even the existence of the Dao, inherently has no purpose; they simply exist, just like 'Gods'.
The Divine Dao, as the 'initial things' of this world, and perhaps even the initial things of the entire Universe and infinite worlds, for what purpose were they born?
The answer is, for no purpose.
This is also the Divine Dao's attitude to this day.
There is no why, no need for a why.
As the initial things, the Divine Dao does not need a Dao Orthodoxy to guide them in what to do, to give meaning to their ethereal lives; it is completely unnecessary.
Therefore, the inner body spirits are also completely unnecessary.
Li Qi's inner body spirits had many tasks: suppressing the Five Mountains and Four Rivers, maintaining bodily functions, suppressing various evil spirits. These were originally the 'meaning' of the inner body spirits, the reason Li Qi created them. It was for the various functions of the inner body spirits, and to use them as summoned beasts in battle, that Li Qi created and maintained the existence of the inner body spirits.
But in these fifteen years, Li Qi destroyed all his inner body spirits, and even destroyed his Inner World.
He discarded everything. These things with clear purposes and clear meanings were all destroyed bit by bit.
If they were destroyed in an instant, it would be suicide, certainly no way to survive.
However, taking fifteen years to slowly destroy a little and replenish a little, then there was no problem, just like the human body itself. A child growing into an adult, almost the entire body is replaced, yet there is no feeling at all.
With the help of True Knowledge Dao Resonance, Li Qi's mastery over his body was extremely high; not a single wisp of Qi would have the slightest error.
He destroyed and reshaped his entire body and Inner World, then replaced them with Chaos Qi.
Immediately after, Li Qi witnessed a miraculous scene.
These Chaos Qi, according to Li Qi's 'Dao', naturally began to differentiate.
Just like—
When the Universe first opened, it was a state of Chaos, and all the Chaos Qi, according to the Great Dao of the Universe, naturally differentiated into myriad forms of Qi.
Yes, no artificial control is needed, no one needs to find direction for 'Qi', no need to use Dao Heart to regulate Qi, to force Qi's operation, nor to use 'cultivation method' to prescribe paths for the Qi within the body, thus preventing self-detonation.
These actions are actually meaningless.
As long as you have the Dao in your heart, the Chaos Qi will naturally differentiate into various Qi. In this way, everything will be perfectly harmonious, without any artificiality, and without needing to rely on cultivation method to operate.
This made Li Qi think of four words.
“Dao follows natural.”
Indeed, these four words involuntarily came to his mind.
However, the naturalness pursued by Shaman Dao, which is the universal Law of the Universe, perhaps possesses such a quality.
With the Inner World constructed by Chaos Qi, the inner body spirits were also naturally born.
And they were not inner body spirits created by Li Qi using Divine Ability, but rather generated by his body itself.
Thus, he felt it.
He touched the thin membrane of the fifth rank.
