Chapter 811: Abdicate

Facing such an imbalance, Li Qi unhesitatingly activated his Inner World, attempting to summon the Mountain Spirit and communicate through Invoker’s methods, wanting to understand what was happening.

However, the Mountain Spirit refused Li Qi.

Li Qi was stunned.

He immediately began to follow the threads of Karma to find the reason.

This tracing back spanned over a hundred million years, and because time was always objective for him, Li Qi genuinely experienced such a long duration.

Tracing back such a long time was not a simple matter for Li Qi; it wasn't because tracing Karma was difficult, but because the information accumulated over a hundred million years was truly hard to discern.

Doing so would cause him to fall behind his opponent by one second.

In a fourth-grade actual combat, being one second behind essentially meant losing the initiative forever.

But there was no other way; he had to find the reason.

One second passed, and Li Qi processed all this information at a speed that overloaded his thinking organs.

He also found the reason why the Mountain Spirit was unwilling to accept him.

Li Qi owed the Mountain Spirit a piece of Karma. (See Chapters 48 and 49 for details)

At that time, Li Qi used the Mountain Spirit’s Qi to convert it into human Qi, which he then used to gather Heavenly Qi and Earth Qi to help himself escape.

This was harmful to the Mountain Spirit, though it wasn't a major issue; calling it harmful was perhaps akin to a normal person smoking a cigarette, essentially negligible.

However, even this matter was dug up by the Human Dao.

And it was used at this moment to press down the scales of war.

Li Qi opened his eyes; in just one second, the light pillars erupting from the Grand Ritual nodes below had almost completely turned into the golden color belonging to the Human Dao.

The initiative was completely lost.

Li Qi’s gaze sharpened.

Tsk, truly worthy of the Human Dao.

Now that the opponent had made their move, it was Li Qi’s turn to respond.

But… Li Qi still had his own moves.

— — — — — — — — — — —

At this moment, in Boundless Outer Domain.

It is well known that the territories in the hands of the Baiyue Kingdom Lords are not just in the world.

In fact, the Baiyue Kingdom Lords possess a large number of ‘private assets in Boundless Outer Domain’.

Of course, these private assets in Boundless Outer Domain cannot actually be considered Baiyue; they do not have the world's status, and therefore cannot help the Baiyue Kingdom Lords establish their Dao Foundation, so they can only be called property, not part of Baiyue.

But no matter what, these worlds in Boundless Outer Domain could not escape this war; in fact, over the past sixty years, these worlds have been heavily exploited, their resources forged into Spiritual Artifacts, and then sent for use within the territory of Baiyue.

A seventh-grade world, a subordinate world of the Wandering Realm—

Which is the first world in Boundless Outer Domain Li Qi saw, the Earth Oil Realm.

Here… it was almost the same as several thousand years ago.

Deserts, wastelands, earth oil mining companies, and scattered resistance organizations still dominated here.

However, Li Qi had been here before, after all.

So, what was better than several thousand years ago was that at least there were basic seasonal changes, clear skies, rain, snow, and wind, and it was no longer like before, where all water vapor was used to synthesize earth oil, causing the people to forget what ‘rain’ was.

At this moment, in a factory in the Earth Oil Realm, there was a female worker named Yuer.

This name was very common in the Earth Oil Realm, because rain now held a special meaning in the Earth Oil Realm; they even had a festival dedicated to commemorating ‘rain’, as it was the only source of fresh water.

After all, even with rain, the Earth Oil Realm still had no natural water bodies like oceans, lakes, or even rivers.

After all, water vapor was to be synthesized into precious earth oil and transported outside.

Yuer was actually once the Young Miss of an earth oil company, but in the brutal corporate competition, her Family fell, so she was now a female worker.

She had just finished a day’s labor, working nine hours straight, and had three hours of rest.

Returning to her dilapidated room, the wind picked up outside again, and with a strong wail from afar, the leak in the roof began its quiet, bell-like whirring.

The house was drafty.

At the same time, another sound echoed in the house, a gurgling sound…

That was her stomach rumbling.

Her tears also began to stream down, the bitter tears of this orphaned girl flowing slightly across her lips and silently falling onto her hands.

She caught them, then quickly licked them away.

That was water, and water was very precious in the Earth Oil Realm.

She cried not because of hardship, but because she remembered those delicious foods.

Those sweet syrup porridges, sweet and made from ground chestnuts, just like peanut powder, with plenty of cream poured over them.

Those sour fruit juices, cool to the taste, perfectly sweet and sour, lingering in the mouth like pure nectar, unwilling to be swallowed.

Every time she thought of them, she couldn’t help but burst into tears; exhaustion and separation had never made her cry, but her constantly rumbling empty stomach made her whole being unable to hold back tears.

In the past, her nanny had always worried about her poor appetite, but now, at nineteen, her appetite was greatly increased, and she had never been so exhausted before, so now she could eat several times what she used to.

Thinking of these, she closed her eyes, seeing nothing, just like her future.

Go to sleep early; tomorrow, she would only feel exhausted, facing the emptiness of life, feeling a dizzy spell; she folded her thin quilt to make it seem slightly thicker and able to retain warmth, trying to sleep.

But the next moment—

A pattering sound echoed outside the window.

The sound was urgent, heavy, suddenly falling from the overly full clouds.

It was rain, the rain had come.

She immediately got up, wanting to collect rainwater.

But when she got up, she suddenly felt a throbbing from the bottom of her heart.

Something… was calling her.

A voice echoed in her heart: “Aside from hatred, you have nothing left. Follow me.”

She pushed open the window.

She discovered that in the sky, there was a woman from an unknown place.

On her body, there was obvious Demon Qi.

That was—the power of the Heaven-Devouring Demon Lord.

However… if someone had lived from several thousand years ago until now, he might recognize that person.

The Child of Destiny of the Earth Oil Realm, ‘Number One’. (See Chapters 125 and 133 for details)

Several thousand years ago, she was exiled by Zhu Fengdan and sent to Boundless Outer Domain.

Because, at that time, Li Qi told Zhu Fengdan that these worlds should be given a chance at life, which would conform to the principles of natural operation.

Zhu Fengdan was noncommittal to the answer Li Qi gave, not commenting on whether Li Qi was right or wrong, but still, as Li Qi said, kicked this Child of Destiny out.

Calling it a kick might seem absurd, but this kick directly sent her to a safe world in Boundless Outer Domain where she could slowly develop.

As an outsider, or rather a ‘Transmigrator’, she began her own story.

And about fifty years ago.

Her story reached a good ending.

Number One was already seventh-grade.

This was natural; if she hadn't reached seventh-grade, she would have died long ago.

This was an… extraordinary feat.

For a Child of Destiny, being able to Break through the grade shackles of a world and surpass the grade of their own world is extremely difficult.

If one had to describe it, its difficulty is no less than a civilization surpassing its own era, rapidly stepping into the Void Realm from a feudal society.

How many Geniuses does this require? How many years of accumulated heritage from an entire civilization are needed for such an era of technological explosion to occur?

And a Child of Destiny usually has only themselves.

Therefore, wanting to Break through this layer of shackles is as difficult as ascending to Heaven, far more difficult than Breaking through a grade.

Being able to go from ninth-grade to seventh-grade in a few thousand years already sufficiently shows how much effort she put in, how many risks she took, and how excellent she was.

All of this gave her much more confidence when she descended upon her own world.

And her greatest confidence came from a promise of Shaman Dao.

A promise of ‘permission’.

Number One floated in the sky, her power now sufficient to destroy the entire Earth Oil Realm.

But she didn't; she merely held a simple emblem in her hand and softly chanted: “The elephant says Li Qi, five is the Heavenly position, three or four are human positions, then the third revolution speaks of trust, the fourth changes fate to conform to Heaven and respond to humanity, the elephant, the time elephant decides with joy and governs with clarity, the time of revolution is great indeed…”

This was calling Li Qi; in fact, this set was to accurately contact Li Qi’s ‘honored name’ during the Grand Ritual.

Yes, over the past sixty years, Li Qi’s Dharma Body has done many things.

For example… contacting these Children of Destiny, contacting these resistance organizations in Outer Void worlds.

He had never neglected Outer Void.

The Heaven-Devouring Demon Lord had not shown his face on the front lines… and this was why.

Especially these worlds in Outer Void that were exploited by Baiyue, the suffering they endured was no less than that of the Baiyue natives.

They also needed ‘revolution’.

So, by spreading his honored name, he allowed his name to begin spreading in these worlds.

This Grand Ritual named ‘Revolutionary Rite’, its scope extended far beyond the Baiyue Area or the Earth Oil Realm.

Over decades, in the endless Void Realm, tens of millions of worlds, those private property worlds controlled by the Baiyue Kingdom Lords, their Heavenly Dao, their Children of Destiny, all felt the same call; this was the plan Li Qi laid out decades ago.

The Heaven-Devouring Demon Lord once joined forces with Li Qi, but now that so much time had passed in Baiyue, why hadn't the Heaven-Devouring Demon Lord’s Dao been spread? Why hadn't the Heaven-Devouring Demon Lord been seen for these decades?

In fact, matters in Outer Void were entrusted to the demon race, which could effectively circumvent the Human Dao’s investigation.

All of this had a traceable脉络.

At this time, after feeling the call, these Children of Destiny… because of the promise made decades ago, now responded to Li Qi.

The scope of the Grand Ritual expanded, and at this instant—

The Baiyue Kingdom Lords suddenly discovered something.

The Heavenly Dao they had refined had slipped from their control.

“Li Qi, you little brat, you dog thief—!!” A group of Country Lords, in the midst of battle, suddenly roared.

The Baiyue Kingdom Lords, hundreds of them, most with eyes splitting in rage, clearly perceived their private assets, those refined Heavenly Dao, one by one breaking free from their shackles.

“General—I am willing to surrender!” At this moment, the Great Deer Kingdom Lord immediately said to the Human Dao General in front of him.

But the Human Dao General unhesitatingly thrust his spear, forcing the Great Deer Kingdom Lord to dodge; his previous defense collapsed, and he had to parry desperately, barely managing to hold on, not being killed on the spot.

Surrender?

Hmph.

Beasts, fickle and indecisive, always prioritizing only profit, just like a hamster chasing seeds, constantly running in place on a wheel.

The Human Dao would only laugh at such creatures.

If they had made a decision early on, there might have been salvation, but surrendering at this point… they might as well die.

Indeed, the Human Dao knew that accepting surrender at this time was the best choice, the choice that maximized benefits, but…

Profit, within the considerations of these great Dao Orthodoxy, could never be the first option, not even the second option.

What they thought, what they considered, and what they did must align with their Dao Orthodoxy, just like the Demon Dao; the Demon Dao cooperating with the Human Dao at this moment is absolutely the optimal solution for profit, but they still chose Shaman Dao.

No other reason than: different Daos, no collaboration.

The Human Dao is even more so; those who completely pursue profit, or even succumb to profit, are all ‘non-humans’ in the eyes of the Human Dao.

The Human Dao’s reaction sent a chill down the hearts of the Baiyue Kingdom Lords.

Li Qi must have anticipated the Human Dao’s reaction long ago, but the Baiyue Kingdom Lords still seemed to harbor some illusions.

To call them foolish, the Baiyue Kingdom Lords were clearly shrewd and calculating individuals; in terms of calculating gains and losses, they were each more cunning than the last, always able to seize opportunities to make a fortune.

But to call them clever, they always judged others by themselves; even now, they still thought the Human Dao would be swayed by ‘profit’.

They simply didn't understand that these great Dao Orthodoxy, deep down, didn't care about so-called ‘profit’; they needed profit only because these resources, these connections, these things could effectively help them pursue their Dao.

Merchants earn money just for the sake of earning money, as if money itself has some use.

But Dao pursuers earn money for their Dao path; they have clear goals, knowing what they earn money for, and once earned, they will unhesitatingly invest it where they need funds.

Money itself is meaningless to them; they wouldn't even spare it a glance, but because money is convenient for exchanging resources, they will collect some.

However, if the means of collecting profit violate their Dao, they will abandon it without batting an eye.

To pursue profit for the sake of the Dao path, and then, in the process of pursuing profit, to use means that violate the Dao path.

This is what ‘losing sight of the main goal’ refers to, and unfortunately, there are quite a few such people; they all lost themselves and went astray in the process of pursuit.

This is a ‘misstep’ on the Dao path.

Unfortunately… for the Human Dao, such a low-level mistake would never be made.

The Baiyue Kingdom Lords, at this moment, completely lost their utility.

The only clear-headed Country Lord, the Yunluo Kingdom Lord, suddenly withdrew at this moment, simultaneously relinquishing her Country Lord status.

She performed ‘abdication’.

The object of the abdication was Li Qi.

Li Qi, at this moment, obtained the position of Baiyue Kingdom Lord.

At the same time, the Grand Ritual reached its final stage.

One must know, what was the Primordial Sage Emperor Relic of Baiyue?

In ancient times, it was said: “Yao tried Shun with all his officials and received him at Da Lu.”

This refers to the Primordial Sage Emperor, Yao abdicating his throne to Yu Shun, which took place in this very location.
