Chapter 1065: Haotian's footsteps
Tai Yi and Haotian, The Supreme God of Heaven were engaged in battle.
Haotian, The Supreme God of Heaven was not even facing just one First Grade.
The Human Emperor and Tai Yi simultaneously launched an attack on Haotian, The Supreme God of Heaven.
But...
It was not Haotian, The Supreme God of Heaven who was struggling, but Tai Yi and the Human Emperor.
Haotian, The Supreme God of Heaven was called the Heavenly Emperor.
He was the Sovereign of everything, and the Nine Lands Under Heaven usually chose to yield when facing Haotian, The Supreme God of Heaven's will.
Why was this?
Was it because the Nine Lands Under Heaven respected Heavenly Gods, or because they were reasonable enough?
Evidently, neither.
All of this was because Haotian, The Supreme God of Heaven was too strong.
Humanity had once challenged Haotian, The Supreme God of Heaven, with the Three Dukes plus the Human Emperor declaring war on Haotian, The Supreme God of Heaven, calling it 'Shooting the Heavens'.
It ended with the Human Emperor being struck down by heavenly punishment.
Haotian, The Supreme God of Heaven had once slain many Heavenly Gods; among the Emperors, not a few had died by Haotian, The Supreme God of Heaven's hand. If anyone provoked the Heavenly Emperor's majesty because of Haotian, The Supreme God of Heaven's gentleness, he would realize he had made a grave mistake.
The Heavenly Emperor, one against four, easily suppressed them.
How many First Grade like the Three Dukes would it take, piled together, to stop Haotian, The Supreme God of Heaven's steps?
Unknown.
But at this moment, the unique dual First Grade Human Emperor of the world, and Tai Yi, one of the Emperors, could only struggle against Haotian, The Supreme God of Heaven.
It's not hard to imagine how the agreement behind them was reached.
Tai Yi led the tyrannical Heavenly Gods and those demonic beings who wanted to destroy Mortals. These had huge differences with humanity, and could even be said to have Dao conflicts.
But in front of Haotian, The Supreme God of Heaven, they still chose to join forces.
Although... it seemed that even joining forces wasn't enough.
If there was a wise man who could see through all things, he might remind all the other First Grade in this world, telling them: "Don't mistake Haotian, The Supreme God of Heaven's patience for your own strength; don't provoke the Heavenly Emperor lightly."
Haotian, The Supreme God of Heaven took a step forward.
All the 'Qi' in the entire Universe moved with him.
The fundamental building block of this world was 'Qi'.
Qi constituted everything; this infinitely divisible substance was the foundation of everything, the most basic consumable material.
No matter what it was, you always needed 'Qi' as building material.
Divine Ability, spells, matter, energy, all things, their essence was 'Qi'. 'Qi' even existed in the spiritual world; for example, the classic 'Demonic Qi' was a type of Qi in the spiritual world.
All different properties originated from different mixtures of 'Qi'.
Different Qi mixed together would produce new Qi.
For example, when heavenly Qi and earthly Qi mixed, it became thunder Qi.
Moreover, different methods of production would also lead to differences. For instance, alcohol, this substance, originated from a specific ratio of water Qi and fire Qi, which is why it's called 'fire in water'. And this fire Qi did not come from ignition, but from the fermentation of 'wood Qi' from grains or other plants.
Wood Qi fermented in water, with wood giving birth to fire, then transforming into 'fire in water', becoming alcohol.
However, simply mixing water Qi and fire Qi would turn into 'mist Qi', and could not become alcohol.
Just mixing water and fire could produce so many changes, let alone various different Qi.
And many beings believed that 'Five Elements Qi' was the basic Qi, which could combine to form all Qi.
But when they cultivated to a certain level, they would discover that Five Elements Qi was not actually basic, because Five Elements Qi not only had 'Demonic Qi' and 'Spiritual Qi' as different parallel Qi, but could even undergo Fusion.
By taking all the complex Qi, regardless of their nature, and directly subjecting them to extreme compression, 'Martial Dao Inner Qi' could ultimately be produced.
But Martial Dao Inner Qi was clearly not the ultimate, as it could continue to be mixed further.
By finding a portion of all basic elemental Qi, mixing and compressing them, 'Chaos Qi' could ultimately be born.
And Chaos Qi was the thick soup-like substance at the beginning of the Universe. As its energy level gradually decreased, Chaos Qi could differentiate into many other Qi, such as the Five Elements Qi mentioned earlier, which could serve as a framework.
Generally speaking, civilizations that could access Chaos Qi had generally reached the Fourth Grade.
But... Chaos Qi was not the true origin of Qi.
It could go one step further.
That was 'Origin Qi'.
It was once said that 'yuan' (元), originally meant 'human head'. The character 'yuan' evolved from the shape of a head, meaning 'first', 'beginning', 'origin'.
Because of this, there was the saying 'Yuanshi', meaning the first cause of creation, the mover of all 'effects' of myriad things.
Therefore, there were sayings like 'Yuan, the beginning of Qi', 'Qian Yuan, the one who begins and prospers', 'To call one 'Yuan' is to look at the great beginning and desire to rectify the root.' (See Chapter 164 for details)
Do you see?
This was the secret written in the classics.
The 'Zhu' Book and similar Dao Orthodoxy Legacy books contained knowledge that countless civilizations could never obtain in their entire lives.
It was just laid out here.
Origin Qi was the beginning of everything.
The so-called Haotian, The Supreme God of Heaven, it is said that when Origin Qi is vast, it is called Haotian; among what humans respect, none is greater than Emperor; it is entrusted to Heaven, hence called Shangdi.
Haotian, The Supreme God of Heaven, came from this.
Haotian, The Supreme God of Heaven was all 'Origin Qi', the Incarnation of the initial Qi.
The fundamental Qi of all things, the 'origin' of all building materials that constitute everything, the most basic component of all spiritual or material worlds.
To date, there has been no existence that can be established without 'Qi', meaning there has been no existence that can be completely independent of Haotian, The Supreme God of Heaven.
Heavenly demons might think they could observe all beings by relying on demonic thoughts, but for Haotian, The Supreme God of Heaven, there was no need for such trouble.
As long as all beings could not escape 'Qi' and had to rely on spiritual or material, or similar things composed of 'Qi', then all beings would remain within his sight.
This was the true appearance of the Heavenly Emperor.
After this world was born from 'nothingness', there was initially only one 'Qi', which was Origin Qi.
This initial Origin Qi gave birth to sentience, born as a god. This god had no name, nor did he name himself.
Then, Origin Qi gave birth to 'Chaos'. From Chaos, the Emperors were born, and various Heavenly Gods began to differentiate, each carving out authority from Chaos.
Thus, there were the Gods of Five Elements, such as Zhu Rong and Xuan Ming, who were the power of Five Elements Qi.
For example, there was the existence of 'Emperor Hundun', who was the Incarnation of Chaos Qi.
As the energy level of Chaos gradually decreased, more and more Qi differentiated from it, and more and more Heavenly Gods also began to be born. These Heavenly Gods were the 'First Gods'.
The Water God, Fire God, Thunder God, Wind God—they were all natural deities directly differentiated from Chaos, the earliest personifications of natural phenomena.
And the strongest among them was 'Haotian, The Supreme God of Heaven', who differentiated all the First Gods.
With the First Gods, they began to create all sorts of things in the Void Realm using their authority, and thus later came the Mortals.
The sentient beings developed from the things they created were the Di Qi (Earthly Qi).
This was the status of Haotian, The Supreme God of Heaven.
This was the power represented by the Heavenly Emperor.
When the Heavenly Emperor moved, relative motion became still.
Because... Haotian, The Supreme God of Heaven's Origin Qi disturbed almost all things. Relative to Haotian, The Supreme God of Heaven, all things were still; he achieved his own absolute motion, thereby highlighting the absolute stillness of all things.
Tai Yi could only barely hold on in the face of such immense power; even the Human Emperor, holding the human emperor sword, only felt his own existence severely shaken.
All 'Qi' was under the dominion of Haotian, The Supreme God of Heaven.
The Heavenly Emperor ruled nothing, yet he integrated all Qi.
No one could defeat the Heavenly Emperor.
Unbeatable.
Even multiple First Grade attacking simultaneously could not be Haotian, The Supreme God of Heaven's opponent.
Haotian, The Supreme God of Heaven passed by the Human Emperor.
The Human Emperor's status shattered, and even the Human Emperor's main body and the official position of Heavenly Strategist Supreme General creaked.
He looked up at Haotian, The Supreme God of Heaven.
The former Human Emperor called himself 'Emperor'.
But later he didn't; later he called himself 'Human Emperor'.
Because the character 'Di' could not be placed above him.
As long as Haotian, The Supreme God of Heaven existed for one day, the title 'Emperor' could never fall upon 'humanity'.
Therefore... it was even more necessary to overthrow Haotian, The Supreme God of Heaven.
Overthrow his own creator!
The Human Emperor stabilized his cultivation and, disregarding the burning of his life, attacked again.
And Tai Yi, beside him, followed suit.
Tai Yi, having left his body, although slightly weaker in overall strength, gained complete freedom, and the power he could exert actually increased.
It was once said that Star Officials were not very good at combat due to their excessively large bodies. (See Chapter 576 for details)
And Tai Yi, as the master of the Star Officials, also possessed this characteristic. He bore the weight of all beings; his body was the manifestation of the Reality Universe, with only the heavens being independent.
In this state, Tai Yi could not unleash his full power.
However, now that his body had been entrusted to Zombie Li Qi, he could attack with full force.
Tai Yi's power was not as great as Haotian, The Supreme God of Heaven's.
But it far surpassed that of an ordinary First Grade.
Heavenly Gods were like this; Heavenly Gods were born more powerful than other things, which was why they were called 'Gods'.
Even Mortals, even now, most of their cultivation was merely imitating Haotian, The Supreme God of Heaven's body.
Only a few Dao Orthodoxy, such as the Demonic Dao and Spirit Dao, did not imitate Haotian, The Supreme God of Heaven.
The Buddhist wheel脉, Daoist gates, Shaman, and humanity's Inner World, demonic beings' transformations, and so on—these cultivation methods were all imitations of Haotian, The Supreme God of Heaven.
The diversity that Haotian, The Supreme God of Heaven maintained was maintained in this way.
Therefore, Tai Yi launched a rebellion, and at the same time, he questioned: "Heavenly Emperor, what kind of diversity do you speak of? In the world you control, I only see annihilated time."
Haotian, The Supreme God of Heaven blocked Tai Yi's attack.
In the collision between the two, some things were burned away. It was unknown what turned into dust, floating across the battlefield for hundreds of thousands of light-years.
However, these tiny dust particles caused explosions with astonishing intensity. If a Second Grade were here, he would probably need to resist with all his might to survive.
What exactly were these particles? They occupied little space, but their intensity was extremely terrifying, still floating in the possibilities of the Universe, occasionally erupting with bright light like the birth and death of the Universe, proving their existence.
Haotian, The Supreme God of Heaven paid no attention to these specks of dust, merely saying: "So-called possibility is merely the abundance or scarcity of 'Qi'."
"When Mortals create things, it ultimately requires Qi. The more types of Qi there are, the more things they can create."
"Mortals can create wonderful things we've never imagined, but they need some help. They need more materials; they need different bricks when building a mansion, and I am maintaining the existence of more bricks."
"This is diversity. What I maintain is not a specific development, a specific future, but more 'Qi'."
Haotian, The Supreme God of Heaven said so, his voice still so calm.
He stated his purpose.
As the true form of 'Origin Qi', he gave his answer.
The types of Qi were the indicator of 'diversity'.
The more Qi, the more possibilities there were; this was obvious. Even the so-called beings were merely constructed from Qi.
Even space-time itself could not exist without 'Qi', because the basic units of space-time were entirely composed of Qi.
And life itself was composed of Qi, and they could combine to form new Qi. Thus, as long as the prosperity of life was maintained, life could spontaneously extend more Qi, thereby promoting the development of more life.
Thus, a colorful world was born.
Life itself was like a self-iterating intelligent entity; an intelligent entity could create a next-generation intelligent entity more complex than itself.
A1 intelligence could create A2 intelligence stronger than itself.
A2 intelligence could then create A3 intelligence, and so on, iterating continuously downwards. The more Qi and things that could be created, the more prosperous this world would become.
For Haotian, The Supreme God of Heaven himself, he only needed to create A1 intelligence, then press the start button, and a brilliant world would burst forth before him.
Life would create itself, iterate itself, and it wouldn't be long before they could accomplish all of this.
You see, Haotian, The Supreme God of Heaven didn't manage anything, but life had already ascended to the First Grade.
This was the power of strong intelligence.
However... the Human Emperor on the side only felt a chill down his spine.
Haotian, The Supreme God of Heaven's words actually meant something very simple.
'Higher intelligence' itself was Haotian, The Supreme God of Heaven's tool.
The initial 'higher intelligence' was created by Haotian, The Supreme God of Heaven, and higher intelligence itself could create the next generation of higher intelligence.
Therefore, to Haotian, The Supreme God of Heaven, all beings were an automatic machine designed by him, constantly self-iterating to create what Haotian, The Supreme God of Heaven desired.
Higher intelligence, the most precious treasure in this Universe, the ultimate value recognized by all Dao Orthodoxy, was created by Haotian, The Supreme God of Heaven.
This was truly... a secret.
However, at this moment, Tai Yi replied: "You never used to explain so much to people."
"Yes, I used to be too lazy to explain, but things have developed to this point, and I feel I need to explain. Of course... I know you won't stop."
"So, neither will I," Haotian, The Supreme God of Heaven said.
