Chapter 933: The God who rebelled against Haotian

Li Qi looked at La Qi, his disciple, tracing his Karma line all the way back.

Tracing the other party's Karma, the power from the Third Grade quickly allowed him to clearly understand La Qi's experiences of the past ten thousand years.

At the same time, he also caught many 'eyes' that various people had placed on La Qi.

Some were out of goodwill, others out of malice.

Those with malicious intent would 'reap what they sowed' after some time, but Li Qi would not personally interfere, unless the opponent's grade was two grades or more higher than La Qi's.

If you bully the weak with your strength, then Li Qi will also bully the weak with his strength, which is very reasonable.

As for those only one grade higher, Li Qi would pretend not to see them and let La Qi handle it himself; he trusted his capabilities!

Unknowingly, Li Qi's teaching of La Qi had also become like Zhu Fengdan's teaching of himself, basically letting him do as he pleased. However, Li Qi still blocked their Karma connections, making it impossible for ordinary divination methods to involve La Qi, instead diverting them to a normal world.

Any divination performed by those below the Third Grade would only see a false background.

This was why that Demonic Dao cultivator had failed just now.

But, the Demonic Dao... his juniors also had to fight with the Demonic Dao every day. Did his own connection with the Demonic Dao run a bit too deep?

Li Qi shook his head.

Then he looked at his disciple and daughter, as well as the accompanying Yao Ji.

Yao Ji had originally been unenthusiastic, but seeing Li Qi arrive, she immediately perked up, swiftly appearing before Li Qi and saying to him, "Oh, you're finally here. Can you take me away now? I'm truly fed up with your disciple. I can't do this, I can't do that. He's even more long-windwinded than you."

"When I followed you back then, you didn't care about anything. But your disciple actually started bossing me around."

Yao Ji seemed to have held it in for a long time, rambling and complaining to Li Qi about how she had spent these past years.

Li Qi listened to Yao Ji's words noncommittally, only looking at La Qi.

La Qi couldn't help but feel a little nervous hearing Yao Ji's words.

To be honest, he and his Master were not very familiar.

They had only met a few times, and although he had received many benefits from the other party, if you were to say they had a particularly good relationship, that wouldn't really be the case.

So, when Yao Ji complained to Li Qi, La Qi was indeed a bit nervous.

He knew that Yao Ji was the Heavenly Emperor's daughter, of noble status, and even on equal footing with his Master, because Haotian, The Supreme God of Heaven was a First Grade being.

As the daughter of a First Grade, she didn't need to be subservient to a Third Grade.

So, when Yao Ji complained to Li Qi, La Qi's heart leaped with nervousness, even though he had no heart or any essential organs.

Li Qi saw the body flickering incessantly, like a malfunctioning projector, smiled, then shifted his gaze from Yao Ji to La Qi and said, "Yao Ji says you're long-winded. What did you do?"

La Qi immediately cupped his hands and said, "Yao Ji... always does bad things. Although she herself has no malice, merely her contempt and disregard for consequences can attract many bad outcomes, so I wanted to stop her."

"Hmm, do you know what a bad thing is? If you don't know what a bad thing is and you stop Yao Ji, it's no wonder she dislikes you," Li Qi retorted.

What constitutes a bad thing is very difficult to define.

One man's hero is another man's enemy.

Many times, good and evil can be interchanged depending on different stances, so how can one distinguish between good and bad?

"Good and bad are subjective, but some things are not," La Qi said. "Good and evil are not a matter of a single thought, but are widely present in the foundation of the entire Universe."

"Oh? You dare to talk about the foundation of the Universe now? Then tell me, how do good and evil exist in the foundation of the Universe?" Li Qi raised an eyebrow.

He was only at the Sixth Grade, yet he dared to discuss the 'entire Universe'? Li Qi was going to listen carefully to La Qi's answer.

La Qi's face flushed slightly. Clearly, Li Qi's question made him very nervous, but he did not back down. Instead, he said, "So-called good and evil are the two characters 'Dao' and 'De'. When Dao and De combine, it means man and heaven and earth combine. Thus, good and evil diverge from this, and heaven and man separate from this."

"The Dao exists in the natural, and all beings' De aligns with it. Alignment is good, separation is evil. It is neither determined by the heart nor by man."

Hearing this, Li Qi asked again, "Then, according to your statement, if what Yao Ji does separates Dao and De, what is the Dao, and why do her actions separate from De?"

"The Dao of natural is the meaning of the continued existence of all things in heaven and earth, it is the method of change in the possibilities of all living beings. It is precisely because of the 'Dao' that all things can extend and develop," La Qi said. "Therefore, anything that violates this point is evil, it is a bad thing."

Anything that affects the continued existence of heaven and earth's natural order is an evil deed.

It was a very simple viewpoint, but it couldn't be said to be wrong, and the reasoning was very clear.

To La Qi, Yao Ji's actions were affecting the possibilities of this world.

Because Yao Ji wasn't even doing bad things for her own selfish gain; because... even when a Demonic Dao cultivator does bad things, while eliminating one possibility, he also creates his own possibility.

Just like a wolf eating a sheep, although it destroys the sheep's future, it creates the wolf's future, so the world does not experience a reduction in possibilities because of this, and thus it is not considered a 'bad thing'.

But if the wolf eats all the sheep, and the world's possibilities are reduced as a result, and future options are diminished, that is a 'bad thing', and that is something La Qi feels should be interfered with.

To be able to create a new future is good.

Conversely, if too many futures are interfered with, leading the future down a path with no possibilities, that is the ultimate evil.

And what Yao Ji did didn't contribute to the world's future possibilities, because she wasn't even 'eating sheep'; she was merely wantonly destroying... no, she was merely squandering and wasting the high-level intelligence of this world.

She was not even as good as the Demonic Dao. The Demonic Dao, at the very least, acts out of madness for the sake of its own cultivation, damaging other things while improving itself. For the Universe as a whole, it is balanced or only slightly damaged, and under this logic, it is not considered a great evil.

But Yao Ji gained nothing at all; she was purely destructive, purely damaging the possibilities of the Universe. This behavior itself was undoubtedly 'evil'; what she did was a 'bad thing'.

How to put it... this answer is very consistent with the values of the Manifold Race, and it also looks very much like an answer from Shaman Dao.

Because, for the Manifold Race, change is their mode of existence. The Manifold Race itself is a highly manifest intelligent life form, and they exist by relying on change.

So, for La Qi, the most important thing in the Universe is the change within it.

From the perspective of a Shaman as a 'mediator of all things', good and evil themselves do indeed seem to be confirmable in this way.

natural itself has no good or evil. The good and evil of Shamanes are confirmed by 'mediating all things' in the direction of continuing the possibilities of the entire Universe.

For a Sixth Grade to come up with this answer, it's really... not bad.

Moreover, from the concept of 'morality', La Qi also seems to have been influenced by the Dao sect. Is it Li Shiwei and Yang Ning?

Li Qi was quite satisfied, so he nodded: "Well said. And, facing the pressure in your heart, you dare to speak your mind directly. You're not joking with me or being playful."

"Then, Yao Ji, do you have anything to say?" Li Qi looked at Yao Ji.

Yao Ji pouted, "What's the point? They're just things that appear with a wave of the hand and disappear with a flip of the hand. The so-called possibilities are nothing more than things 'allowed' within the scope. Li Qi, you should be very clear about the meaning of these things, right?"

Yao Ji's answer was even more revealing.

To this Incarnation of the Heavenly Emperor's Dao Resonance, the Goddess of Wushan, and the little princess of the Divine Dao, this world itself was useless. What possibilities? Pure nonsense.

What she did was actually exactly the same as what many Third Grade beings did.

Third Grade beings can easily retrace everything, treating space-time as their toy to play with at will, flipping history back and forth, molding it into any shape.

Compared to such immense power, what Yao Ji did was utterly insignificant. She merely destroyed a few civilizations, not many in total, perhaps not even ten Observable Universes.

Ten Observable Universes?

The impact caused by a Third Grade's single thought is a hundred million times more than that.

One must know that Yao Ji has substantiality.

Although she was only a Fifth Grade, she already possessed substantiality at birth. This was substantiality directly inherited from Haotian. One can imagine how many times she had experienced retracing and turmoil.

So, for Yao Ji, the meaning of all this was truly hard to get excited about. She had already witnessed too much illusion. What could be affected by scribbling and revising in an illusory world?

The so-called 'good' like La Qi's was truly meaningless; she couldn't even be bothered to look at it.

However, facing Yao Ji's answer, Li Qi smiled gently and then said, "Yao Ji, Haotian didn't say that."

Yao Ji's expression changed.

From the previous indifferent impatience, she instantly became serious. She looked at Li Qi, her posture also changing from languid to standing upright.

She was waiting for Li Qi's next words.

And Li Qi gently waved his hand, making his voice audible only to Yao Ji.

These words could not be heard by La Qi and Li Shiwei, otherwise, it would easily affect them.

Whether good or bad, some things should be avoided.

Then, Li Qi said, "Haotian treats all sentient beings equally, even if they are illusory, he has always acknowledged and looked forward to their future."

"So, the illusory seed bloomed into a real flower."

"Now you don't even believe in illusory seeds. Haotian would probably be very sad."

Li Qi smiled.

However, these words seemed to elicit a certain reaction from Yao Ji. So, Yao Ji said to Li Qi, "Li Qi, it is precisely because Haotian did such things that you all stole his possibility of reaching the ultimate."

"Haotian, because of his gentleness, made this world the way it is now. Originally... this world shouldn't have been like this." Yao Ji completely changed her original languid, arrogant, and indifferent attitude towards everything.

She looked directly at Li Qi and stated her answer: "These things are naturally so for Heavenly Gods. Li Qi, you are now a Heavenly God. Can you perceive it?"

Li Qi never expected to hear Yao Ji's answer in this place.

Clearly—

Yao Ji was not on Haotian's side, and might even be in opposition.

Then everything made sense.

No wonder Yao Ji joined Shaman Dao instead of being her little princess in the Divine Dao. It was even rumored that she had once chosen to simply die and cultivate anew.

Yao Ji was an oppositionist.

"But, I don't expect you to understand me anyway. The Zhu Rong lineage has always supported the integration of humans and Heavenly Gods. You are also Haotian's supporters, but I'm different. If I had to say, I get along better with your Senior Martial Uncle," Yao Ji said.

Li Qi's Senior Martial Uncle, Li Qi recalled.

He had two Senior Martial Uncles, who were Zhu Fengdan's two elder brothers.

One was Changqin, a Second Grade Grand Director of Music, one of the Universe's regulators, and a formulator of many Shaman Dao norms. He was considered a high-ranking existence even among Second Grade beings.

The other... was Gonggong, the former Water God.

The current Water Official is Xuanming, but in the more ancient past, it was not so.

Gonggong's主張 could also be clearly seen.

"Gonggong cast down the high and filled in the low, blocking a hundred rivers to harm the people."

He once caused floods, attempting to destroy all Mortals, but ultimately failed. Emperor Yu eventually managed the floods, suppressing the water element with Xirang and exiling Gonggong. The record states: "Yu had merit, removed harm from the people, and drove out Gonggong."

Then, perhaps because of this, Emperor Gaoyang finally made a decision, namely 'severing the connection between heaven and earth', completely cutting off communication between humans and Heavenly Gods, so that ancient deities could no longer arbitrarily interfere with the Mortal realm.

Before this decision was made, Gonggong acted preemptively and began the Imperial War.

This war raged from the land to the heavens, all the way to the foot of Buzhou Mountain, the pillar of heaven and earth, still without a decisive victor.

Seeing that he could not win, Gonggong, enraged, charged headfirst into Buzhou Mountain, snapping the giant pillar in half.

Thus, the sky lost its support and tilted to the northwest. The Star Officials shook, and so the sun, moon, and stars all shifted positions. Consequently, the northwest rose, the southeast land tilted, and the waters of the rivers all flowed eastward, converging into a vast sea, which is the East Sea.

The land below the heavens, as is well known, is crooked. (See Chapter 337 for details)

The east is slightly lower, the west slightly higher, so under the effect of the Earth's geomagnetism, water flows from west to east, where it is swept up into the sky by the strong winds, turning into water vapor that falls to the ground as wind, rain, frost, and snow.

And all of this was because of Gonggong's collision; he directly knocked the possibility tree of the world askew.

So, Yao Ji was not on Haotian's side.

She stood with Gonggong's faction; she resisted Mortals because Mortals had usurped the original status and power of the Heavenly Gods.

"So that's how it is, then it's those Heavenly Gods who advocate for the extermination of Mortals," Li Qi made his guess.

The Divine Dao itself wasn't exactly peaceful either.

Thinking of this, Li Qi gently blinked, and all surrounding restrictions were lifted.

"Alright, you did well, keep up the good work," Li Qi directly changed the subject and said to La Qi.

Li Qi encouraged La Qi.

Then, he continued, "As for Yao Ji, don't stay with them later. You'll come with me in a bit."
